DXN review
DXN Lingzhi Coffee is an instant coffee in individual sachets, with added extract of Ganoderma, the mushroom also known as reishi or lingzhi. On the brand's official European website, we found neither the dose of mushroom per sachet, nor the full list of ingredients, nor the caffeine content. That makes it hard to compare dosages. So this page takes stock of what DXN states, what is missing, and what Brainstoorm puts in black and white for each ingredient.
Who is writing: Mush n Go makes Brainstoorm, a direct competitor of DXN. This page compares what each brand states on its website and, for Brainstoorm, the technical data sheet from our contract manufacturer. Figures recorded on 6 October 2026. We have no connection with DXN.
Brainstoorm coffee flavour
Lion's mane, cordyceps and chaga from the fruiting body, maca, ashwagandha and roasted chicory. The taste of coffee, without the jitters.

A widely distributed Ganoderma coffee, with a dose that is not written down.
DXN is a group of Malaysian origin, present in many countries, which says it grows and processes its own Ganoderma. Its Lingzhi Coffee comes in a 3 in 1 version, sweet and creamy, and in a black, sugar-free version. What the official website does not say is how much mushroom a sachet contains. For anyone choosing a mushroom coffee for its mushrooms, that is the information that matters.
- Brainstoorm is for you if you want to know what you are drinking: the weight of extract of each mushroom, the part used, 20 mg of caffeine, and 60 days to change your mind.
- DXN is for you if you are looking for an instant coffee in individual sachets, with Ganoderma, in a black sugar-free version or a ready-sweetened 3 in 1 version, and if the exact dose matters little to you.
- On price, the two are close: around €1.32 to €1.38 per DXN sachet in Hungary, versus €1.42 per cup of Brainstoorm, and €0.78 on a three-month subscription.
What is DXN
A Malaysian group, sold through a network of distributors.
DXN sells its products through independent distributors, in many countries. In Europe, its website is published by Daehsan Europe Kft., a company based in Budapest. We recorded the two Ganoderma coffees on the Hungarian product list: Lingzhi Coffee 3 in 1 EU and Lingzhi Black Coffee.
The ingredients in detail
What DXN's website states, and what it does not.
We read the pages for both products on the brand's European website and on its global website, along with the photos of the boxes. The texts name the main ingredients, without quantities. The published photos show only the front of the boxes: no ingredient list, no nutrition table.

Extract or equivalent
Two numbers for the same mushroom: how to read them.
On a mushroom coffee label, the same ingredient can appear with two very different weights. Both are correct; they simply do not measure the same thing. DXN writes “Ganoderma extract” without giving either a weight or a ratio; Brainstoorm shows dried-plant equivalents and, on its technical data sheet, the actual weight of each extract. We give both figures on the Brainstoorm side.
The extract is what is in the cup
An extract is a concentrate. With a 10:1 ratio, it took 10 g of dried mushroom to obtain 1 g of powder.
The equivalent is the starting weight
“1,000 mg dry equivalent” with a 10:1 ratio means 100 mg of extract in the cup.
The part of the mushroom matters
The fruiting body is the mushroom itself; the mycelium is its network of filaments. Both are used, and a clear label says which.
The rule for comparing
Always the same column on both sides: extract against extract, equivalent against equivalent. That is what the following table does.
Dosages compared
Brainstoorm and DXN, line by line.
For Brainstoorm, the table gives the actual weight of extract and then, in brackets, the dried-plant equivalent, for a 6 g serving of the coffee flavour. For DXN, it shows what the official website states on the day of our check.

The two recipes do not overlap: DXN relies on a single mushroom, reishi, which Brainstoorm does not contain; Brainstoorm brings together lion's mane, cordyceps and chaga, with maca and ashwagandha. But the real difference lies elsewhere. On one side, a line reading “Ganoderma extract” with no quantity. On the other, a weight of extract for each mushroom, the part used, and vitamin B5 at 100% of the reference intake, which contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal mental performance.
Caffeine
A real coffee on one side, 20 mg on the other.
Both Lingzhi Coffees are made from instant coffee, so they contain caffeine. How much? The official website does not say, either for the 4.5 g sachet of Black Coffee or for the 21 g sachet of the 3 in 1. As a benchmark, the European Food Safety Authority counts around 80 mg for an espresso.
Brainstoorm contains no coffee. Each cup provides 20 mg of NewCaff® microencapsulated caffeine, coated so that it is released gradually, and its taste comes from roasted chicory. The figure is in writing, so you know where you stand in your day.
One cup a day
DXN: content not stated. Brainstoorm: 20 mg. The EFSA benchmark for an adult is 400 mg a day, from all sources combined.
If you count your caffeine
With no figure on the sachet, there is no way to add it up. With Brainstoorm, two espressos plus one cup come to around 180 mg.
In the afternoon
At 20 mg, a cup of Brainstoorm after lunch weighs four times less on your evening than an espresso.
If caffeine is what matters to you, our article how many cups of coffee a day does the maths cup by cup, and coffee and anxiety sets out the signs of having too much.

DXN lists a retail price for each country. We recorded the Hungarian list, in forints, converted at the European Central Bank rate of 6 October 2026. Brainstoorm prices were recorded on the France store. A box of DXN contains 20 sachets, a pouch of Brainstoorm 30 servings.
| Prices recorded | Brainstoorm | DXN Lingzhi Coffee |
|---|---|---|
| Unit price | €42.71 for 30 servings, i.e. €1.42 per cup | 3 in 1: 10,040 Ft (€27.51) for 20 sachets, i.e. €1.38; Black Coffee: 9,605 Ft (€26.32), i.e. €1.32 |
| Subscription | €29.90 per month, i.e. €1.00 per cup | not stated |
| Best listed price | €69.90 for 3 months on subscription, i.e. €0.78 per cup | 3 in 1 in a 1 kg pouch: 21,215 Ft (€58.13), i.e. around €1.22 per 21 g serving |
| Shipping | free from €59 in France | threshold and delivery time not stated |
| Money-back guarantee | 60 days, even once the pouch is open | statutory 14-day right of withdrawal; no guarantee stated |
Prices recorded on 6 October 2026 on mushngo.com (France store) and dxn2u.eu (consumer price, Hungary list, €1 = 364.95 Ft). The price reserved for distributors is not public. The price per serving for the 1 kg pouch is our own calculation.
As a one-off purchase, the prices are close. On subscription, Brainstoorm moves clearly ahead, at €1.00 then €0.78 per cup. And it adds a guarantee in writing: 60 days to ask for a refund, even after opening the pouch.
Which one to choose
A reishi coffee, or a recipe written to the milligram?
If you like instant coffee and simply want to add Ganoderma to it, DXN is an established brand, available almost everywhere, with a sugar-free version. If you want to know how much mushroom is in your cup, with very little caffeine, without the racing heart at 10 am or the slump at 3 pm, you are the person we created Brainstoorm for.
- 20 mg of caffeine per cup, released gradually, and a figure written on the product page.
- Three mushrooms from the fruiting body, 1,000 mg of equivalent each, including 250 mg of cordyceps extract.
- No added sugar, and two extra plants: 3,000 mg of maca equivalent, plus ashwagandha.
- 6 mg of vitamin B5 in a single cup, i.e. 100% of the reference intake: it contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- No mushroom taste: roasted chicory brings the roundness and bitterness of a coffee.
- 60-day money-back guarantee: you taste, you decide.
More than 50,000 people have already replaced one of their cups with Brainstoorm, and rate it 4.8 out of 5.
Before starting either one
- Both products contain caffeine and are not recommended for children or for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
- Brainstoorm is not recommended if you have a thyroid, liver or heart condition: ask your doctor for advice.
- A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet. Do not exceed the stated daily dose.
