Hifas da Terra review
Mico-Leo, from the Spanish laboratory Hifas da Terra, is a pure organic lion's mane extract in capsules: 990 mg of extract in two capsules a day, with a stated beta-glucan content and published analyses. It is a specialist's product, built around a single mushroom. Focus, by Mush n Go, makes a different choice: one capsule a day that combines lion's mane with four plants and two vitamins, at a lower price and with 60 days to change your mind. Here are the two labels, line by line.
Who is writing: Mush n Go makes Focus, a product that competes with the one from Hifas da Terra. This page compares what each brand states on its website and, for Focus, the technical data sheet from our contract manufacturer. Figures recorded on 6 October 2026. We have no connection with Hifas da Terra.
Focus
Lion's mane from the fruiting body, ginkgo, bacopa, saffron and maritime pine, with vitamins B2 and B3. One capsule in the morning.

A pure extract, or a complete formula in one capsule.
Mico-Leo and Focus start from the same mushroom, lion's mane, and the former stops there. Hifas da Terra offers a single extract, high-strength, organic and documented batch by batch. Mush n Go offers a formula: in it, lion's mane sits alongside ginkgo, bacopa, saffron and maritime pine, with two B vitamins.
- Focus is for you if you want a complete formula rather than a single ingredient, just one capsule a day, a gentler price and the right to try it for 60 days.
- Mico-Leo is for you if you are looking for the highest dose of lion's mane, organic, with no other ingredient, and with certificates of analysis you can consult for every batch.
- On price, Focus is cheaper: €1.42 a day as a one-off purchase versus €1.67 for Mico-Leo, and €1.00 versus €1.58 on a monthly subscription.
What is Hifas da Terra
A Galician laboratory, specialising in mushrooms for more than twenty-five years.
Hifas da Terra is a Spanish company based in Galicia that describes itself as a European mushroom biotech, present in more than 17 countries. It makes its own extracts and also sells through pharmacies. Mico-Leo is its lion's mane product: an organic fruiting-body extract, in plant-based capsules, which the brand recommends taking for at least three months.
The ingredients in detail
What is in two capsules of Mico-Leo.
The Mico-Leo product page is one of the best documented we have read: weight of extract, part of the mushroom, measured compound contents, and six downloadable certificates per batch. Here are the figures for the daily dose of two capsules.
| Per 2 capsules | Stated amount | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Organic lion's mane extract | 990 mg | fruiting body; stated ratio 6:1 |
| of which beta-glucans | 200 mg | |
| of which hericenones C and D | 4,742 µg | |
| Vitamin C (acerola) | 12 mg | 15% of the reference intake |
| Capsule | plant-based | coloured with purple carrot juice |
Source: “Mico-Leo” product page and quality page on hifasdaterra.com (Spain store), recorded on 6 October 2026. The analysis report published by the brand for a batch from November 2024 shows a higher beta-glucan content than the product page; we have kept the figure shown on the product page.
Extract or equivalent
Two numbers for the same mushroom: how to read them.
On a mushroom capsule label, the same ingredient can appear with two very different weights. Both are correct; they simply do not measure the same thing. Hifas da Terra shows a weight of extract; so does Focus, along with its dried-mushroom equivalent. We give both figures on the Focus side.
The extract is what is in the capsule
An extract is a concentrate. With a 10:1 ratio, it took 10 g of dried mushroom to obtain 1 g of powder.
The equivalent is the starting weight
“1,000 mg dry equivalent” with a 10:1 ratio means 100 mg of extract in the capsule.
The part of the mushroom matters
The fruiting body is the mushroom itself; the mycelium is its network of filaments. Both are used, and a clear label says which.
The rule for comparing
Always the same column on both sides: extract against extract, equivalent against equivalent. That is what the following table does.
Dosages compared
Focus and Mico-Leo, line by line.
The table compares the daily dose of each product: one capsule of Focus, two capsules of Mico-Leo. For Focus, the dried-plant equivalent appears in brackets where the technical data sheet gives it.
| Per day | Focus | Mico-Leo |
|---|---|---|
| Capsules per day | 1 | 2 |
| Lion's mane | 250 mg of 4:1 extract (1,000 mg), fruiting body | 990 mg of extract, fruiting body |
| Measured compounds | 75 mg of polysaccharides | 200 mg of beta-glucans |
| Ginkgo | 60 mg of extract, of which 14.4 mg flavonol glycosides | absent |
| Bacopa | 75 mg of extract, of which 15 mg bacosides | absent |
| Maritime pine | 36 mg of bark extract | absent |
| Saffron | 14 mg of extract | absent |
| Vitamin B3 | 16 mg, 100% of the reference intake | absent |
| Vitamin B2 | 1.4 mg, 100% of the reference intake | absent |
| Vitamin C | absent | 12 mg, 15% of the reference intake |
| Organic | no | yes, certified |
| Capsule | plant-based | plant-based |

On lion's mane alone, Mico-Leo is clearly ahead: nearly four times more extract per day, organic, with a stated beta-glucan content. Focus is not competing on that ground. It brings five extracts together in a single capsule and adds two vitamins at 100% of the reference intake: vitamin B3 contributes to normal psychological function and, like vitamin B2, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
One active or seven
A single mushroom, or a formula with seven actives.
This is the real difference between the two products, and it comes down to each brand's idea of what a supplement should be. Hifas da Terra isolates one mushroom and concentrates it: you know exactly what you are taking, and nothing else. If you want lion's mane, and only lion's mane, it is an approach that is hard to fault.
Mush n Go blends. Focus combines lion's mane with four plants that are often found together in this type of formula, ginkgo, bacopa, saffron and maritime pine, and rounds it off with vitamins B2 and B3. Each extract is standardised: the technical data sheet gives the flavonol glycoside content of the ginkgo or the bacoside content of the bacopa.
How to take it
Focus: one capsule a day, with a meal. Mico-Leo: two capsules a day, before breakfast or lunch.
How long it lasts
A box of Focus covers 30 days. So does a refill of Mico-Leo, and the brand recommends at least three months.
The drink
Would you rather drink than swallow a capsule? Brainstoorm brings lion's mane, cordyceps and chaga together in a coffee-flavoured cup.

Focus is cheaper in every scenario, and the gap widens on subscription. Hifas da Terra has free shipping from the very first refill in its favour. On the right to try, the two brands do not offer the same thing: Mico-Leo can be returned as long as the packaging is sealed; Focus is refunded for 60 days, even after opening.
Which one to choose
High-dose lion's mane, or one capsule that does several things?
If you know that lion's mane is what you want, pure, organic and high-strength, Mico-Leo is a benchmark and you will not go wrong. If you are looking for a daily capsule for your working days, simple to take and designed as a whole, you are the person we created Focus for.
- One capsule a day, instead of two: 250 mg of lion's mane extract from the fruiting body, i.e. 1,000 mg of dried-mushroom equivalent.
- Four plants on top: ginkgo, bacopa, saffron and maritime pine, each with its content stated.
- Vitamins B2 and B3 at 100% of the reference intake: they contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- A gentler price: €1.42 per day as a one-off purchase, €1.00 on subscription.
- 60-day money-back guarantee: you try, you decide.
Mush n Go is rated 4.8 out of 5 by its customers.
